Congratulations to the Delaware Fury 13u Softball team for earning the Military Appreciation 14u “B” Championship this past weekend! With an All In attitude, the power of the offensive continued this weekend recording 13 extra base hits from Kate Slaney, Lindsey Roscoe, Siena Evans, Adison Weisenberger, Kylie Vanhorn and Samantha Stokes. Lily Edwards led the offensive charge with 9 hits on the weekend. The team combined for a .374 batting average over 6 games. In the championship game, Fury battled a powerful Lady Renegades. After a tough defensive inning Fury went down 4-2 in the fifth. But in Fury fashion, the team fought back to tie the game on an RBI triple from Evans and a Sac Fly from Slaney. Fury held the Lady Renegades and went back on the offensive hunt for a shot at victory with time expiring within the inning. Speedy Edwards legged out an infield single, while Weisenberger earned a walk. Stokes then singles to right to score Edwards which gave Delaware Fury 13u a 5-4 win over the Lady Renegades to become the 14u “B” bracket Champions!
With a 21-1-1 record, this powerhouse team won 3 out of 4 tournaments they participated in during the Fall 2021 season. The explosive offense combined for a team batting average of .375 over 23 games. Complete with solid defense and a tremendous trio on the mound, this group only allowed an average 1.9 runs per game, posting multiple shutouts performances in each of their tournaments. This offensive and defensive dominance has earned Delaware Fury 13u the USSSA Power Ranking of 3rd in the Nation for the Fall. Congratulations ladies, continue to work hard!
