The Delaware Fury 12U brought home some hardware over the weekend with a dominating performance on Saturday and Sunday at oKtoberFAST at the Beach.

They kicked off the weekend on Saturday as the Delaware Fury Care Bears, going 3-0 in Pool Play. The Fury girls outscored their opponents 44-14. Myranda Talmadge, Ava Miller, and Hayden Bennett all picked up wins on the mound. Miller and Talmadge also led the offensive attack. Miller hit .857 while Talmadge hit .667. Brooke Currier, Sophie Miller, Lexi Gabrielli, Hayden Bennett, Maeleigh Hunt, and Ava Watkins all hit over .400 on the day. The day also saw the return of Ava Link who had been sidelined for much of the Fall. The girls rallied around her as she was able to finally join her teammates and contribute.

On Sunday, the day opened with a 12-0 win in 3 innings. Talmadge again toed the mound and dominated the opposing team. Bella Holl continued her dominance behind the plate throwing multiple runners out. In the semifinals the Fury girls gutted out a hard fought 5-2 victory. Talmadge struck out 10 while the offense was able to put together timely hits to seal the game. Kendal Leech accounted for two of the Fury’s 5 runs and came up with a big double to lead the Fury offense.

In the finals, the Fury girls got out to a quick 2-0 lead on Bella Holl’s two-out RBI single but they couldn’t quite finish the game off. The Fury girls dropped their first game of the weekend in the Finals and finished as the Tournament Finalist. Congratulations 12U on a great weekend!!
